DVD
The Marketing and Media Trend of the Future
and How to Get in on the Ground Floor!

With the Tremendous surge in Popularity of DVD Players and DVD’s in almost
every new computer marketed in 2003, DVD Recording is joining the Trend. DVD
Recording Will Become Mainstream Consumer Product in 2003, Head of
DVD+RW Alliance PredictsFunctionality, Simplicity and Compatibility
Will Guide Consumer Choices of Which DVD Recording Format to Use.

What does this all mean to you?

Originally, DVD's were sort of a new 'novelty' and only for the entertainment industry
to experiment with. Using Major Feature Films as the pioneers, DVD fast became the desired
format for the major home video markets. It is now also the main sought after format for all
those in the music industry using 5.1 surround sound. As DVD has the ability to contain much
higher sampling rates as opposed to CD's. Obviously DVD's are the wave of the future for the
entertianment industry but how can the rest of the modern world take advantage of it?

PRINT IS DEAD
Catalogs and Mass mailing brochures can easily and cost effectively be replaced by
the forceful trend of interactive DVD. Here are some examples of companies that are on the
forefront of new marketing trends:
Catalog companies are seeking to put their entire catalog on DVD, hotels and resorts can put
their expensive brochures on DVD along with any video of their locations, golf courses, etc.,
corporations are now seeking to use this new DVD media instead of mailing their brochures.
They can now include what's on their brochure and include a video as well and realize results
that are far stronger than print. All of this can now be accomplished at costs which may soon
make color brochures and catalogs obsolete.

BENEFITS

Instead of sending out an expensive full color brochure or catalog, you can now, for the same
price or less, send out an interactive DVD with images, video, audio and weblinks which take
the consumer directly to the businesses web site or exact page of the topic.

THE DVD PRODUCTION PROCEDURE

As an example, a bank that normally would send out brochures to it's customers could now
instead, send out video clips and higlights of all of the services it offers. Video presentations
have historically far out exceeded the results one gains from printed mailers. While there
is a production cost initially, this cost wayed with the factors of impact, duplication, mailing
and results obatined, makes this format almost imperative.
1 Production
Normally, 5-7 minutes of video presentations are the best. With proper creative, pre-
production and scripting, this can be shot in 1 day. Then the video is offllined and then a
final edit is performed. Once the final edit is comlete (which can be transferred to VHS tape
as well), authoring is performed on the video in order to select the chapters or sections in
which the viewer can chose. For example: A reatly presentation; someone interested in purchasing
a home can by-pass those sections he or she is not interested in and go directly to the
home buying section which would include information on such things as finance rates, down payments
requred, buying strategies for the consumer and an assorted array of useful tips. Weblinks can also be
added which will take the viewer directly to the web page containg full details and contact information.
All the viewer has to do is to logon and click on the WebLink.
2 Glass Master
Once the production, editing and authoring is complete, the final product is taken to our
replication source where a Glass Master is produced. This will be the master
by which the replications are made from. The final product is light weight and now
ready for mailing, and at often times, much less than a catalog.
3 Replications
Global Media has the ability to provide you with Mass replications of DVD's
at around $0.90-$1.00 per unit and that is with a minimum order of only around 3000,
higher volumes reduce the price even lower.
4 The Costs
The costs involved would be for the total Production and Edit, that would include everything ,
from concept, development, storyboarding and scripting to offline and online editing and Authoring,
and a charge for the Glass Master. The DVD box/sleeve would be discussed as to how elaborate you
would like to get. Unless you are providing Wholesale/Retail to the Video Chains an elaborate
Box and Sleeve may not always be necessary and not always that beneficial. This can be
relatively inexpensive to design for simple direct mailing or over the counter type
promotional give-a-ways. After that the costs would be just for the
number of units you wanted replicated and the mailing.
Let Global show you how affordable the entire
process can be.

THE RESULT...
You now have an interactive multi-media audio visual presentation of your company to send
out to all of your customers. Now when people receive your marketing presnetation, instead of
throwing it in the trash, they become curious and are impulsively enticed to 'take a look' at
what you have. This is what is happening with DVD, those who receive a DVD in the mail overwhelmingly
view it just for the curiosity factor alone. The cost to mail is very atractive, under $0.95 each.

Are you ready for the Future, if your customers are then you need to be.

Since no two businesses have exact same needs or requirements, contact Global Media now and let us give you a quote on your entire job, you may find it is not as expensive as you may think, and the benefits and potentials are unlimited!
